Rev. Suzanne Halligan |
Rev. Suzanne Halligan knew that she was meant to help and to support the ministers in her life even when she did not always know how. Growing up in the Catholic Church she was confronted with the idea that she would not be able to accomplish what her heart desired because she was a woman and she was lesbian. Despite this, she knew deep inside that God intended for her to preach and teach the Word, and more importantly to assist the ministers in their lives. When "Halligan and Michele" discovered New Life Community Church of Hope, it didn't take them long to realize that they had found their home. Sis. Halligan(as she became known among her new church family) saw that there was such warmth in the faces of those who greeted her, and smiles on the faces around her. Rev. Halligan discovered many treasures at New Life Community Church of Hope; discovering gifts of the spirit, strength in her tears of joy, and music that reached to the soul. She learned through the members of the Church that the Bible was quite a bit more than the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, and Romans. Rev. Halligan had found her home, a place of opportunity, growth and happiness. Through the opportunities provided to her, she realized her heart's desire to be a servant of God and become a pillar of the church. Rev. Halligan discovered that this was not just an opportunity to serve the ministry, but the saints, her Church, and above all to be a servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In February of 2004, Rev. Suzanne Halligan received an Associate License with Reconciling Pentecostals International at the general conference in Scottsdale, AZ. Through this experience she has found herself desiring to learn more about her Lord, the gifts He bestows on each of us, and desiring to share what she learned with the saints of the Church. Rev. Halligan has learned that people are not only comfortable in their seat, preaching from the pulpit, playing an instrument, or greeting the saints in the Church; but, that everyone has their place and calling. She now recognizes the gifts and diversity that each person brings to the ministry of Christ and the blessing it is to continue to grow with one another as they all learn together. She presently holds a General License with RPI. |
